Sangsue breathed out slowly, finally relaxing. Lately there had been a lot of things going on in the palace, and most of them were things gone wrong. Not to mention there had been an unusual number of injuries lately, and for some reason they all thought that the palace was the first place to go when someone got stabbed. She had taken care of two such cases personally, but there had been more. Was there someone going around making trouble, or was it just chance that so many people had decided to pick fights recently? Or maybe they just now started coming to her. Even though there was a perfectly good hospital right in the middle of both sections of her city. Not that the humans would dare to venture over to the palace anyway, because they would have to go through the half where the inhumans lived. And even though they didn't know what was going on, word had somehow gotten around that it was a bad idea to go there. But maybe she would have to check up on what had been going on at the hospital lately, to see if there was anything wrong. Sang really hated when people just burst through the front doors of her home and demanded medical attention for their buddy who had been stupid enough to get mortally wounded. Because honestly, no wound that bad comes without at least a little bit of stupidity.
But she had managed to get away from all that for now, and had retreated to the most peaceful place in her little valley. It was a particularly misty night down at the lake, but even better, because likely no one would come around and bother her. And the tranquility in the still air around her was very nice. Even if nothing was happening back home, there were still people buzzing around doing this and that, and it could get pretty loud and annoying. And Sydonia had been back long enough that Sang felt alright with leaving her there by herself. Although, she had to admit that she wouldn't mind if her friend had decided to follow her, or just happened to bump in to her. Syndonia's company was always nice to have, even if it didn't always end so well. Like with a few dead humans and a runaway wolf burdened with too much guilt. She sighed again, just thanking the Gods that her friend was back where she belonged now.
The vampire looked at the lake, wondering what on earth she could do now that she had gotten out. Well, there was perfectly good water there. And she was resistant to cold. Maybe she could take a swim? Yeah, that was a good idea. With a small nod to herself, Sangsue rose and walked to the water's edge. She wasn't sure if she should at least take her outer clothes off. Someone might come along. But it was a pain in the ass to swim with a sweater and jeans still on. But with a little thought, she decided to leave just her shirt on the beach and stepped in to the cool, clear water, and making her way out to the middle. This was pretty nice, actually. Maybe she should run away from everyone more often.

we're not scare mongering this is really happening
It was a rather lovely night out. Not too cold out, but chilly enough. Hatter was meandering down toward the lake, only because he had nowhere else to go. He had no friends to hang out with, barely a home to go back to.. His life was sad. The mist that surrounded the lake seemed sad as well. He connected with it. Hatter felt it's pain. They both hung around with no one really wanting them to be there. They were both obscure figures in a world of near-paradise, and no one really knew who or what they were. It made sense.
The large, lanky black panther slinked down to the trees that were on the outer banks of the lake. He didn't know why he was in cat form. He felt comfortable that way. But what started to make him uncomfortable was when rounding on the border of the water, he saw a shirt. A feminine shirt that had been lazily tossed onto the wooden dock there. He instantly stopped, shifting back into his human form. That either meant there was a rapist vampire about, or there was a chick in the water. Hatter sincerely hoped that it was the latter.
As he got closer to the water, he began to see that it was, in fact, the latter. There was a female with long, dark hair swimming peacefully in the lake. Hatter really didn't mean to be a creeper when he crawled a bit closer to the surface of the water, hiding behind a close tree. Peeking under a branch, he watched as she bathed herself in the cool waters of the lake, seemingly just for relaxation. Of course, she didn't have a shirt on, because that was hers that had been thrown onto the dock. It was then that Hatter realized he was a total creep. Turning to just walk away and scold himself, he slipped, and down he went. Of course, just his luck.
It wasn't just down to the ground, however. It was down in the water. He reached desperately for the low branch that he had just been peeking around, but the bastard tree only sliced his hand and wrist open when he did. As his head and all submerged under the icy waters of the lake, he hoped to any god out there that this female wasn't a vampire and didn't eat him. Of course, with his luck, he would be wrong yet again.
After coming back up and seeing with dismay that his hat was floating away from him, he got a better look at the woman now facing him. He'd seen this face before. And he realized too late that it was the face of the leader of the entire city that he lived in. Not a good place to meet again, especially under such circumstances. As he was bleeding profusely into the lake and she was swimming over, he tried to make eye contact. He reached up to tip his hat, but it wasn't there. Damn. "Eh, g-good evening, m'lady.." he stammered.

This was really, really nice. The vampire mused to herself as swam around in the cool water. She hadn't been able to do anything like this for a very long time. And sure, she had a pool back home, and hell, she had a hot tub and other great things as well. But with them also came the people milling about, and someone always waiting just around the next corner to be able to respond immediately should she need anything at all. And lately, that had become irritating. But out here, she was alone, finally. And that let her relax a great deal, even so much as to completely ignore the noises in the forest around her, or the splashes of the occasional large fish nearby. Just earlier today, she would have been jumping at even the slightest movement or shuffle within a half mile radius. Which would have been exhausting out here in the forest, where absolutely everything moved. As a result of this, she didn't notice the somewhat louder noise of the panther approaching her location. Nor did she notice when said large animal turned in to a man, and he decided to creep and watch her. She was too busy facing the other way and trying to get the perpetual knots out of her shoulders and neck. A massage would really be nice right now. But only right now. Because as soon as she returned home it would do no good. The muscles would tense back up as soon as they were taken care of. But it didn't help her stress level that she hadn't fed in little over a week. Highly abnormal for the vampire. Sangsue made a point to go out at least every two or three nights, just because it was one of the few things she actually enjoyed anymore.
But her perfect bubble of peace was shattered rather harshly at the sound of a snapping branch, and a very loud splash. Cursing loudly, the vampire whirled around in time to see the aforementioned man disappearing in the water cascading down from his impact. She hadn't gotten a good look at him, and so couldn't tell whether or not it was someone she really cared to get closer to. So help her, if this was one of the warriors following her, there would be some major hell to pay. She had basically sneaked out. If they kept close enough watch on her to notice even that, then there would definitely be some changes. Sang began making her way over to the source of the ripples now lapping at her stomach, though, just out of curiosity. Despite the small flare of annoyance at the possibility of being followed, the peace that she had held moments before still made her curious.
As she got close, the man picked himself up and stood in the shallows, and probably owed the expression on his face to having been caught spying on her. With that thought, Sang remembered that she was almost half naked, and quickly sank so that only her head was above the water. Letting out a small hiss at the scum who had dared to spy on her. But that hiss was cut short, when she saw the gash in his wrist, which was bleeding profusely. There were tendrils of red swirling in the water, spreading out with the ripples and reaching her quickly. She could smell the iron-y scent of sweet blood with only a small inhale. The woman's eyes instantly turned a shade of glowing, bright red, her gaze fixating on the man's wound. Perhaps he should be punished for creeping. Actually no, he should definitely be punished. And a perfect opportunity had presented itself. Sangsue barely registered the man's sheepish greeting, but forced herself to tear her eyes away from what she so desperately wanted at the moment. Only now did it register with her body exactly how hungry she was, and the vampire literally ached with longing for the magical liquid still flowing from his wrist without cease. That branch must have sliced a pretty big vein. However, she managed to meet his eyes, and started drawing closer very slowly, still keeping the whole of her body underwater.
As she actually looked at his face, Sangsue knew she recognized it. He was probably one of the ones who had come in recently, demanding her help with something. Because no one was able to take care of their own problems in this city, anymore. With a few seconds of thought, she recalled who he was. This was the foolish feline who had brought a dragoness in to her halls. At the irritation of the memory, she bared her teeth lightly. The whole situation had been ridiculous. “You. What were you doing?” The vampire's voice was low, with a clear threat in it. As she continued toward the man, Sangsue started standing, showing her half naked body, but not caring. She had shifted in to her hunting mode, and now the only thought on her mind was aquiring the food so close at hand. She actually almost forgot that she was missing her shirt, but just ignored it anyway and approached him. “Find what you were looking for?” The woman's tone was slightly seductive, but it was not because she wanted sex from this man. This was simply how you got what you wanted. As she spoke, though, her gaze once again fell upon the wound on his wrist, not really bothering to put much of an effort in to disguising her intentions. He should know who she was anyway, he would know what she would want. And besides, Sangsue deserved it now. He was the one who had been watching her.

Hatter watched in slight dismay as the vampiress hid herself from him in the water. But of course he kept his eyes on her eyes. Yeah, her eyes. Eye contact to show that he wasn't looking somewhere else. The awkward-looking kititran stood in the shallows of the lake, watching the female slowly wade over toward him. This was it, he thought. He was never going to survive this lashing. She would sentence him to death for creeping on her or something, and it would be the end of him. In the back of his mind, he felt the blood being pulled from his forearm by the cool water. But he didn't do anything about it. This thought was reenforced by a breathy hiss that was released from the leader's mouth. Hatter winced away. However, she seemed to stop. The kititran snuck a peek back at her to find out why.
Her eyes were trained on his wound that was bleeding rather profusely. Oh, of course. She was a vampire, that was right. Hatter jumped when Sangsue spoke. You. What were you doing? He immediately stuttered something out about just being around the area and wanting to relax by the lake. He hadn't realized that she had had the same idea. She said nothing in return, instead getting closer and closer. The vampire soon was showing her half-naked body again, and it took everything that Hatter had not to stare. The perfect pale skin of the woman in front of him was practically glowing in the moonlight. He was reminded that vampires were beautiful creatures, and could seduce easily. But he was trying his hardest to keep himself in line. . .
Find what you were looking for? Her voice was like sinful silk, and Hatter was hooked. He saw her look at his wound yet again, as if she were actually gesturing toward it. He got the hint of what she wanted, and he could care less. His green eyes ran over every inch of her porcelain skin, absolutely drinking her in. He lifted his wounded arm absentmindedly, mumbling a quick "You did." and offering his blood. It might get her to be less angry at him, and it looked like his luck was just a little more on track than usual.

The man was staring rather obviously at her body as the vampire drew closer, and while normally this would have made her more angry, at the moment, it only meant things would be so much easier for her. Although in the back of her mind, she thought that he really should be trying to hide it better. It was almost pathetic to Sangsue how men could be rendered speechless by such a thing, and all she was missing was her shirt. He couldn’t even see anything, really. Maybe there was just some kind of allure that she gave off when she wanted something, that drew people’s attention automatically, and made her look even more appealing. But she wouldn’t know, and she didn’t really care. The woman’s only thoughts were filled with the beautiful scarlet red fluid polluting the water between the two.
Sang’s breathing became heavy once she got close enough to really get a whiff of the kititran’s blood. It wasn’t as great as human blood, but it would do nicely enough for her. The stupid man in front of her muttered some sort of excuse for his presence, but she didn’t even care anymore. Truth be told, she was rather glad this man had come along. Because the vampire probably wouldn’t have thought of hunting tonight, strangely enough. And maybe after she was done here, she would go out and find some other poor sap she could turn in to her food, just for the hell of it. There were always humans ignoring her curfew and strutting about at night, thinking that nothing could possibly go wrong since she had this city under such a tight watch. Ironically, though, it was exactly that why they shouldn’t be going out. And maybe this man shouldn’t have been out tonight. Sure, he was more than human, and could take care of himself. Hunters like her wouldn’t be interested in inhumans. But now that her gnawing hunger had reared its vicious head, she might end up draining him, just because she could. One couldn’t say what they might do when faced with temptation.
Luckily enough for him, Sangsue didn’t think of that idea as too incredibly tempting. So she would probably just exhaust him, then flee, making sure that he would keep quiet about the whole thing. And as she saw him put the whole thing together, the vampire didn’t think his mouth would be a problem. The man was practically undressing the rest of her with his eyes, and was completely ensnared by the sexuality in her voice. No, he definitely wouldn’t be talking. However, it did come as a surprise when he came back with something equally suggestive, and then lifted his arm toward her. The stupid man-cat was actually offering her, the formidable vampire leader, his blood. And was totally happy to do it. She hadn’t put him under any kind of trance, why was he being so incredibly cooperative? Eh, he was probably being a stupid male and thought he was going to get lucky. Well, he just might. Things could easily turn sexual, though it would hardly mean anything. It wouldn’t be the first time.
She was actually grateful for the gesture, but stopped for just a second to give him a cautious look. One of the first rules of hunting, always be on your guard. This wasn’t exactly a hunt… But still. However, he didn’t appear to be pulling anything weird, so Sangsue closed the rest of the distance between her and the kititran in a blink, even through the water. She stopped inches from him, deliberately putting her bare skin as close to him as possible without actually touching him. Even she could play with her food. The vampire grabbed his still bleeding arm gently and brought it to her mouth, molding her lips to the skin around the wound delicately. The instant that his blood touched her tongue. Sang was completely dead to the world around her. It didn’t create the same explosion of pleasure sensation as human blood did, but it was still pretty damn good. She was practically starving, so that made this even better.
As she drank, her skin tingled, and she couldn’t help letting loose a low sound from her throat that sounded almost like a moan. It totally wasn’t intended to be, though. Although, she wouldn’t be surprised if the man was making some sounds she couldn’t care enough to hear, as this was meant to be a pleasurable thing for both parties. Its generally better if the source is the neck, though, for obvious reasons. Sangsue kind of had a thing with necks. Her own was sensitive to touch, and she enjoyed things there more than most people. She very much enjoyed feeding from the throat. The arm was just. . . Boring.
