And it's something quite peculiar.
Something that's shimmering and white.
Something that's shimmering and white.
The sound of silence. Nothing interrupted it. Not the chirping of birds, not the rustle of an animal moving through the bushes. Not even the wind dared to break the quiet. Such a beautiful requiem for sound and the usual noises of the forest. It was deserving of the standing ovation that the motionless trees gave it. There were no animals in the noiseless part of the forest. None but Ariple. The mystic creature stood as still as everything else in the forest, eyes closed. His wings were tucked into his tawny, fur-covered body, and his feathered tail rested lightly on the ground. His ears, however, were perked and attentive. Being half barn owl, one of Ari's ears was placed at a higher location than the other, despite their deer-like appearance. Though the change in placement of the ears wasn't noticeable.
So slowly that it wasn't visible, Ariple tilted his head. At a certain angle, he could hear everything within a certain distance. He was listening. For something, for anything, he was listening. The hypogriff hadn't felt this kind of peace in a very long time. It was true that he was a vary peaceful creature, yes. But certain thoughts that sometimes infiltrated his mind could not be stopped, and could not be stopped from delivering certain emotions to him. Keeping his eyes closed, he listened. So subtly that it was almost lost in the silence, there came a trickling sound, like that of a river. Ari opened his jet black owl eyes that held a curious flame. A river, such an appealing thought. Knowing exactly where it was because of his so enhanced hearing, he carefully set out in the direction that he heard it from.
Ari's hooves made small impressions in the damp earth as he walked, and there was a minimal sound of the crunching of the foliage that littered the earthen floor. Soon enough, he saw a beautiful sight. The clear waters of the Lumera River flowed through the sparsely scattered trees. The water was so crystal clear that you could see straight to the bottom of the riverbed. Such a wonderful sight. Ariple walked to the edge of the bank, and stretched his wings out to their full span before folding them back up, and lowering his head. His dished owl face ran close to the cool water as he dipped his beak in to take a few sips of it. Such a magnificent sight.
It leads you here, despite your destination
Under the milky way tonight.
Under the milky way tonight.
