Som fell to the ground. He could not stand a blow like that again. It luckily didn't hurt him much, but his face was burnt severely. On one side of his head, you could see the deep impression, and that part of his ear was missing. This would not be taken lightly. He mustered up all of his strength for one final move. Sin threw his knife at Dax, and it just barely stuck into his knee. Sin leaned up against a rock, and waited for Dax to get closer. He said, "Maybe you're right. Maybe I was taught wrong. I probably shouldn't have relied on scare tactics and self-confidence. Come here, I wish to shake your hand. I swear I am a man of my word. That was a great fight." Sin beckoned for Dax to come over, hoping he would.
"Now I know what I'm up against," He said. "If I try to do things like this many more times, I may end up dead..." His voice trailed off, and in his eyes it was visible he was clinging for dear life. This is an honorable man, Sin thought, at least I hope. He decided to let things happen as they would, and if Dax didn't get closer, he would give up the charade and go back to attacking, even though he was hurt. It would have to go like this, for anything here to not be in vain.

Dax watched closely as the fire burned and then burnt out on the other inhuman's head. His breathing was just beginning to get labored, because now he was bleeding in the middle of his chest, and a very good shirt had just been ruined. It all made him even more angry than he had been. He just hoped that he didn't snap and kill this guy altogether, because then he would be kicked out of here for sure, if not sent to death himself. He really didn't want to deal with those consequences. He didn't really know what to do when the knife came at him through the air, so it hit him square in the knee. Dax let out a yelp of pain and nearly fell over, but instead took the knife and threw it into the ground with spite. I probably shouldn't have relied on scare tactics and self-confidence. Dax almost laughed. He bit it back. "Of course you shouldn't have! I do that all the time! Look where it's gotten me!" Dax really would admit that he was an idiot two out of three times.
Come here, I wish to shake your hand. I swear I am a man of my word. Dax was now leaned over again with his hands on his knees, trying to heal the wound in his knee. This wasn't good if the halfbreed was planning on attacking again. He surely wouldn't be able to move as fast as he had been. This time, the faery really did laugh. He just couldn't hold it back. "Dude, I am not going to shake your hand. But can this please be a truce or something? I think we've hurt each other enough." His entire statements were littered with chuckles here and there. Dax limped a few feet closer, though he didn't really trust the half-vampire, so he stopped a few feet away. "And you ruined my good shirt."

"Good, you aren't stupid." Sin chuckled. He limped over to Dax, finished pretending to die. He held out a hand. "Truce, pal? I know I ruined your shirt. It can be sewn. Mine is burnt. And I kinda have to have my EAR fixed, but oh well. I think we should be friends. It's pretty clear we're an even match." Sin looked around, trying to find a quick escape in case this backfired. Once he found one, he quickly returned his mind to the only thing he thought was important. Training. Being stronger than this faery. Stronger than any challenger. Just, strong. He wished to eventually kill this faery, after a good, long fight. But, he kept this to himself, and stared cheerily into Dax's eyes.
I really need food, he thought, and after this, he would go hunt. Then, he would find someone who could treat a burn. Blood ran down the side of his mouth, there was a smoldering circle in his chest, and the wound on his right hand was starting to open again, but he'd be okay. He just needed to train.

No matter what the stranger said, Dax really didn't trust him. No matter if they had a truce between them or not. He didn't trust humans, and he didn't trust vampires. And a mixture of the two was just out of the question. Especially since he'd just tried to kill the faery like he did. In Dax's personal opinion, this guy was completely out of his mind, and he would never see the fire element again. At least, not with his eyes. Dax had to bite the inside of his lip to stop a smirk from crawling across his face. The faery could see in his mind his own plans for slowly torturing this fine specimen, and never to be seen by him. It was perfect. But that was not the thing to think about at this particular moment in time. Still trying not to put pressure on his injured knee, Dax eyed the hand that the halfbreed had offered.
Dax sighed. "Look, dude. I really don't want to. . ." The redhead trailed off from his explanation about why he didn't want to shake hands. "Oh, whatever." He stuck his hand out to meet the halfbreeds, and gave it a firm shake. He couldn't help that his own hand got a little hot, but he looked straight into the other's face with warning in his own eyes. If this was all a trick. . . Dax wouldn't think twice about killing this cretin. "It's a truce. Just don't try to hurt me anymore. It really does. . . hurt."
