Painful Memories

[Sion]

Sion trudged along in the forest, his padded paws throwing up the mud. The rain made his fur wet which is something sion despised because he was a cat after all. His mind clouded and churned with the memories of his family. The blood, the screaming, the terror yet that monster had still left him alive.

Sion didn't notice where he was going until he fell into a puddle that drenched him from head to toe. He growled in frustration as he shook himself off. Why hadn't he killed him why did he leave him to live and suffer only days before his 17th human birthday? "I've got to find a way out of this storm." sion thought.
he headed toward the first cave he could find.

He approached the first cave that he laid eyes on but something kept him from entering it quickly. Sion heard a sobbing from inside the cave a voice that obviously belonged to a female. He moved closer and closer to the cave until he could see the sobbing figure sitting on a rock inside. "Hello?" he said but right after he noticed her pale white skin and the foul stench in the air.
The figure turned and growled at him but Sion was already in a pouncing position and roared at the top of his lungs.

The ferocity left the face of the female vampire. "Your the first snowleapord of your kind I've ever seen and your a newborn just like me aren't you?" the girl spoke in a smooth voice that calmed sion. he let the beast go and phased back to human form. "Yea I'm a newborn." "Hi my names Katrina." the girl said she had the normal scarlet vampire eyes. "Hello I'm sion."

"I can see your only a couple moths old." said Katrina. Sion sat at the far end of the cave staring straight into the young vampires eyes with an bewildered expression that asked how did you know that? seeing the expression on his face she said "let me explain, you can tell the difference between a young and an older kititarn because of your different scents." The look still remained on Sions face. Katrina was now starting to become irritated. In an instant she was now only inches from Sions face. A growl ripped through Sions throat. "I wouldn't get close." he warned "We cats can be very dangerous especially around strangers." Sion wasn't afraid of the vampire in the slightest he just couldn't stand the god awful smell. The female vampire backed away about a foot or so with a deep sigh.

"You can go on with what you were saying now." Sion spoke in an annoyed tone. The vampire looked at him with a face of disdain before going on. "Well as i was saying I can tell your not very old because an older kittiatran smells very strongly of wood and grass and trees, but you dint so I can tell your still young."
It made sense how she deciphered it but Sion had another question on his mind one that he was still trying to figure out.
"Why are you so far away from vampire territory?" the question was sincere and a look of pain shot through the face of the young vampire. Outside the cave the rain had picked up and lightning had started to light up the forest. the smell of moss was now entering the cave blowing out the scent of the vampire. a lightning blot flashed across the sky before she began to speak.

"my sister and I were servant vampires, we are vampires that only lives to serve our master or in my case the man that created us. You see my master was never a kind one and always abused his servants but we never found out his true reason for us until it was too late. we had just killed a pack of dragons when he gathered us up. now its time to fulfill your purpose he said, then he turned and killed one of our group. amazed we scattered but he still came after us. one by one he picked us all off until me and my sister were the only ones left. we were chased into this forest. we ran and ran for seemed like forever then my sister stopped me. Stay here she said and in an instant she was gone. a minute or so passed until she came back with a wild boar in her hands. she killed it pouring its blood on me. the stench was terrible but she said to me Katrina he wont come looking for you hide in those bushes now! so I had no other choice. as soon as I got behind them our master came into the clearing. wheres your little brat Alexandria? he asked. It doesn't matter you'll never get to her! and as soon as she had finished she was on the ground. he raised his hand and...."

She broke off as a tears welled up and pain shot across her face. "I lost my family too." Sion said in an apologetic tone. "I was..." he got broken off by the scent that hit his nose and it was obvious Katrina smelled it too. Horror filled her face and she about screamed "Its Him!!!!"

The wind brought in the new scent into the cave. It was obvious that the new scent was a vampires as it filled the cave with a horrible stench that only sion could smell. The lightning outside the cave cracked and lit up the sky like a flood light had been turned on in the sky. Katrinas eyes grew wide with horror as the smell got stronger, her foe getting closer and closer to the cave.
"He's here for me!" she screamed. She was in a frenzy trying to figure out where to go where to run. "I'm sorry I should have sent you away I knew this would happen!" he said to sion. The Kititran did not share Katrinas fear however he was ready to fight whatever was coming. ready to fight this vampire foe for his new found friend.

The lighting crashed and blinded both the Kititran and the vampire but when they opened their eyes a dark looming figure was standing at the mouth of the cave. The figure was tall and light skinned and his eyes glowed with crimson red. "I told you its time for you to serve your purpose Katrina." he spoke with a dark intimidating tone. he approached the two and made quite a distance taking only two or three steps. "The boy can leave I have no intention of killing him." Sion stepped forward.
"And who would you be?" "My name is Quintin the master of the vampire behind you she probably wanted to drain you." "Cant you smell me?" "I lost my sense of smell years ago." "Oh" The element of surprise was now with him Quintin couldn't tell he wasn't human.

"So if you don't mind... he was now two inches away from Sion. "I'll take whats rightfully mine and head off." He started to walk by Sion when he grabbed the vampires arm and threw him all the way across the cave. The vampire was in awe and completely caught off guard. Sion looked straight into the Vampires eyes and spoke in a deep, dark tone.
"You wont touch her."

The vampire eyes were wide open with surprise. Sion chuckled to himself as the vampire didn't know what to think.
"What that's impossible!"
Sion started the change, his body phased as he felt his body twist and turn in ways not humanly possible. Fur started to cover his body as the fangs and claws started to take their place. The phase was complete and sion was now a 7,6" snow leopard. Quitin chuckled as he stood back up off the ground.
"I love your kitty Katrina but it wont be enough to hire a lowly shape shifter, he's no real breed of were animal after all."
He smiled evilly and stepped toward the shaking vampire in the back of the cave.

sion used all of power and ripped into the male vampires mind. He used his telepathy to speak with him.
"I would think twice if i were you." i said in the most threatening voice I could muster. Quitin grabbed his head in pain and fell to his knees. It was the perfect opportunity and sion jumped at the vampire. Sion landed on Quitin with a thud and lunged at his throat. The vampire was stunned but sions jaws were stopped short as the powerful hands of the vampire stopped him in his tracks.
Sion pushed with all his might until he was pushed completely off the vampire to land on his feet in front of the cowering vampire in the back of the cave. Sion raised his head as a spine chilling rear ripped through his throat.
"So your not just a mutt." said Quitin with a little tone of irritation.
Sion let out a little purr that resembled a chuckle. The vampire growled and lunged for sion but was stopped with a clawed paw. sion swiped at the vampire and felt one of his strikes land and dug his claws into the vampire.
The vampire jumped back and and screamed as the pain surged through his arm. He looked at the kittitran with pure hatred. Sion used his telepathy and mocked the vampire.
"See your not indestructible."
the vampire roared with anger and jumped at Sion slashing and clawing at whatever he could get his hands on.
