This is what William lived for. He knew it was. The deafeningly loud music, the beat of it pounding through his entire body. The lights were down low in his rather large apartment, and he had blacklight bulbs in the lights that weren't off. The door to the apartment was currently open, allowing the beings that he'd invited to file in by the dozens. Well, almost. There were a lot of people already in his apartment and more were coming, but that really didn't worry him. As an inhuman that lived in the city with the humans willingly, he had been able to talk to a few people, confirming his apartment to be the largest, and on the top floor of the complex. It could fit more people than the number he'd invited, easily. But he had invited everyone that wasn't a human that he could find. . .
He saw all of the familiar faces of the people that he'd invited, plus more. Which was to be expected, as the neon colored flyers he'd handed out included the phrase "bring your friends with you" somewhere on it. Well, the more the merrier. The tall boy stepped up toward the doorway, running a hand through his black and purple hair, and attempting to greet every creature that came through it. It was hard. There were a lot. He tossed a "hi," a "hello," and a "what's up" everywhere he could, just to make sure that everyone was acknowledged. William watched the people entering closely, just to make sure that none of them looked obviously human. It wasn't that he had a problem with them, he had lived with them for almost all of his life, it was just that he had come here to make non-human friends, and he wanted this party to be exclusively for them.
Will saw the lithe movements of vampires entering, the grey eyes of the werewolves, as well as the spindly figures of the faeries. One of the people waiting out in the hallway even made his way into the apartment as a bird, flying low over the others' heads, making them duck and complain. But everyone seemed to be smiling. And those who weren't still didn't look displeased in the least. When everyone in the hallway had piled in, William stuck his head out of the doorway, looking both ways down the corridor, just to make sure no one was forgotten. Satisfied, he came back in, and shut the door, locking it behind him. He didn't want any intruders. Still passing around greetings, he quickly made his way to the large stereo system, where all of the music would be played from, and where all of the flashing, colorful lights were sitting.
"Welcome, my friends, to the time of your lives. Concessions are on the table in the back, by the way." he said into the small microphone that was sitting on the stereo, twirling the mic's cord in his other hand the entire time. "Let's get this party started." He let go of the microphone, and propped his neon green shutter shades up on his face before flashing pointy canine teeth in a smile. Pressed a few buttons on the stereo system's computer, changed the song, and turned it up louder.

Up above the world so highBrinzer tried not to be trampled in the middle of theline of people. To make it harder, she wasn't used to walking on just two legs. But a dragon in the city was forbidden, and she wanted to be in the city tonight. She'd seen flyers all around advertising a party, and she'd decided to attend it. It sounded like a lot of fun, and maybe she would meet someone to hang out with. Surely she wouldn't be the only dragon at this party, though she would probably be the youngest. And she doubted anyone would pay a girl looking about 10 any attention. But there would still be food and music. She hadn't actually been to a party before, but she was up for some fun.
She tried to peer in between the bustling people to find her way out later. It wasn't working too well. The progression reached a door, and people fanned out in to the large room. Brinzer looked in amazement at the colored lights flashing around the room. She had the urge to just run around the huge space, but then thought it probably wouldn't be smart with more people filing in and quickly filling up the place. A voice rang out through speakers and she looked for its source. She saw someone talking in to a microphone, then realized that she recognized him. Yeah, he was the guy from the lake. The really weird one. Well, it didn't really surprise her that he was the host of this party.
Brinzer had become engulfed in a crowd, and didn't like it. She wasn't used to being so small and able to be engulfed. She made her way to the back to the food and watched the people around her. She was quite unsure as to what she should do now, and felt out of place. She didn't want to leave, but knew that she probably would soon enough. This was all just sort of strange to her.

Ahrima I often think it's nothing but a coffin. Gotta get wreck 'till our necks never swing on a rope. Ahrima knew from the moment that he'd seen the bright color of the party flyer that this event would be something worth seeing. There was absolutely no inhuman that would dare risk revealing themselves in the city, where one hundred percent of the human population lived. And with this party, being held in the middle of the city, in a human's apartment complex, that's exactly what they were doing. And Ahrima loved it. He knew it would most likely be fun, but it would be even more fun with the risk of danger. That always was an extra twist that werewolves like him loved. The blonde was grinning as he entered the large, cleared out apartment that was really dark, with flashing colored lights everywhere.
As the host of the party stepped down from his place at the microphone, Ahrima saw him drift over to the table with food and drinks, where the blonde wolf himself was standing. As he saw the tall, black and purple-haired man make his way over through the drones of people, Ahrima raised a gloved hand. "Hey, man." He made a motion to gesture around the room. "Better be fun." He flashed a wide grin. But then his attention was turned to two people in the middle of the room that seemed like they might get in a fight. Ahrima, with a cup of something in his hand, bounced up on the balls of his feet to attempt to see above the crowd. One pushed the other. Uh-oh. This was going to be good. Ahrima made his way over.

Floating flocks of candle swansZanna leaned casually against the wall of a huge apartment, a drink in hand that she wasn't actually drinking. She surveyed the crowds of people enjoying the scene. She had never been one much for parties, but with this one, she had figured 'why not?' as is seemed to be the biggest party this place had ever seen. Certainly the biggest the city had. She was surprised it had been allowed. Though really, she didn't know for sure that it had. It wouldn't be surprising if a party like this was meant to go unnoticed by an authority figure. Zanna kind of wished that she was able to dance or just mingle with people in general. She would be a lot more comfortable here.
In the middle of the room, there was a knot of people thicker than in other parts. It looked like people were trying to see something in the middle. Well either it was someone showing off, or there was a fight about to happen, or already happening. She went over and tried to push through the crowd, but was unsuccessful, due to a combination of the fact that she was kind of small and unnoticeable, and there wasn't really much effort involved. She looked around at the people, and was a tad taken aback to see someone she recognized, the guy who was scavenging and took him back to her shop. Zanna could not recall his name, and she wasn't sure if she was unhappy to see him or not. Either way, Zanna wasn't too keen on being near him, so she moved to a different part in the crowd and tried to peer over heads at the spectacle in the middle.

Hatter had never been a part of such public fun. Let alone in the midst of humans. He was excited. He thought it was a good place to meet a couple friends, ones who would make valuable allies if he ever needed them, and perhaps no one here would hate him as much as everyone else had. He filed in with everyone else, having to hold on to his hat after someone knocked it right off his messy head of hair. He dusted off the hat (which really didn't make it look any less dingy), and propped it on top of his head once he was inside the dim lighted apartment. Booming music that he'd never heard before played, and the flashing lights just made Hatter tip his hat lower. Hatter attempted to go toward one of the walls. He wasn't much for dancing, and he didn't really want to try and mingle, for fear of upsetting someone. He just seemed to have that effect around people.
Despite his efforts to keep from bumping into people, he was jarred to the side by someone out of control and dancing, causing him to back up and knock a drink out of the hand of someone else. As the gangly twenty-year-old turned around to apologize, he realized that he had been unlucky enough to knock a drink out of the hands of a muscular guy that was considerably taller than he. Hatter's brown eyes met the other man's eyes in fear. Eyes of grey. Well, shit.
Hatter's mouth fell open as a waterfall of apologies spilled out of it, and he backed up again, more into the middle of the cleared out floor. "Look, I'm really sorry about that. I'll get you another one if you want! Really, really sorry." It didn't look like he was winning over the werewolf he'd angered much. The other's face was twisted into a snarl-like expression, exposing sharp canine teeth. He could have sworn he heard a growl emanate from the other man's chest. Just get out of here, you mangy cat. Hatter frowned. That was just plain rude. "I beg your pardon. Just who are you calling mangy?" The kititran instantly kicked himself. Wrong thing to say.
The taller man gave a push to the thin frame of Hatter's shoulders, effectively sending him backwards, and this time, openly snarled at him. It was okay, he knew how to deal with this. He'd do the best thing he could: run. Just as the werewolf swung his right fist at Hatter's head, the thin man ducked down and took off forward, right beside the bigger man. He thought he'd made it out, but he heard a loud growl and a few cracks and pops, and then sharp teeth caught his ankle. He went down, and his hat was lost in the scramble upwards. But the large wolf wouldn't stop, and in this form, Hatter knew that he himself was going nowhere.
A few more seconds, and he was transformed into a huge black panther. He charged at the side of the wolf that was still a little bigger than he was, ears pinned back against his head, and swatted at the canine's head with his paws. He swiftly ran to the side before the wolf could turn around. The entire time, people were forming a large circle around them, watching with anticipation like it was some kind of game and Hatter was a gladiator. So much for not making anyone mad.
Say your prayer, but let the good times roll.

The little one stops to climb a tree A grin stretched across Tobi's face as he broke out of the block of people in to the large, colorfully lit room. He had been trying to get away from his parents all night to come to this party, and he had finally managed to get here. He knew that his parents would probably show up to drag him back pretty soon, much to his dismay, and he hoped he had enough time to have some substantial fun. By the looks of this place, that goal wouldn't be too hard at all. A slightly ADHD 8 year old in a place like this might have some undesirable consequences though. Tobi had been known to get in people's way and break or knock things over. The small snow leopard bounded through the room, dodging between people.
He reached the main electronics booth just after the host stepped down from it. He almost went and started messing with any buttons or switches or anything else he saw, but he got knocked aside by someone in a hurry to get to some other part of the room. He looked up with a rather annoyed look on his face, wondering how on earth someone had not seen a snow leopard in front of them. But by the time he had gotten back on his feet, everyone was already gathered in the middle of the room. Well, he wanted to know what was going on. Working his way to the middle of the circle was rather easy, as he could fit between peoples legs. He'd had a lot of practice worming himself through tight spaces.
When he was able to see what was going on, he watched excitedly. A fight at a party was pretty dang entertaining. He thought he recognized one of the people fighting though, the one who seemed to be defending more than attacking. It looked like the guy who had saved his life over at the ranch. He didn't know why, but it didn't surprise him very much that he'd gotten himself in trouble.

The dragon made his way over from the stereo to the table of food that a lot of people seemed to be gathering. Everything was going well from his perspective. There were a lot of people here. More than he'd expected, but it was awesome. He was greeted when he got to the table, by a werewolf that he remembered giving a flyer to. William flashed a quick smile and raised his own hand to return the greeting. He turned to another person that had also said hello to him, another dragon, and did a quick fist bump before turning to the dancefloor. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see a flash of white fur zoom by on the ground. He really didn't mind that the kid might be here, but William just didn't know if it would be appropriate for that much longer.
But then something else caught his attention. A crowd gathering in a circle around the middle of the dancefloor. They formed a thick boundary around whoever was in the middle, one that was impossible to see through and impossible to penetrate. That could only mean one thing, as William had seen a lot of parties in his time. It meant fighting. William walked with long strides over to the mass of people, shoving his way into the middle of it. "Out of my way!" he ordered a group of people that he wanted to get past. Once he was into the circle, he saw exactly what was going on. A huge panther and an even larger wolf were duking it out right in the middle of his apartment. This, he did not appreciate. Not one bit.
William strut right forward and put his hand on the panther's shoulder, who seemed to be the less aggressive of the two. "Calm down!" he shouted at the two. The wolf growled and started forward but William stopped him by putting his other hand on the furry head. The wolf shook him off and backed away. "Not at my party, you bastards! Now stand up and be civil, before I kick you both out!" William watched the wolf closely as he got back to human, and helped the kititran up because his ankle had been bitten. He patted the cat on the shoulder. "You okay? Good. Now go have fun!"
The loud music that was consistently booming was interrupted for a split second by the doorbell on the apartment ringing. William quickly made his way over to the door, and looked out off the peep hole. William sighed. Humans. He knew that something like this was going to happen. He turned around to the crowd and yelled as loud as he could over the music, "Everyone, please stay human for a second!" Then he turned to the door, unlocking it, and opened it just enough so that he could pop his head out. "May I help you?" He looked at the male and female human. They were relatively young, but didn't look anything more than displeased. "This is an invite only party." he added before the humans could say anything. Will heard them say something about turning the music down. He mocked thinking about it for a few seconds. "Umm. . . No." With that, he slammed the door.

Up above the world so highBrinzer was bored. Well, not exactly bored. But she wasn't doing anything. Even though she wished otherwise, the party scene just wasn't her element, she felt odd being in a strange apartment surrounded by people she'd never seen before. She didn't want to leave though. So she stood in a corner, sipping her drink every few minutes.
After a short time, she was glad she stayed, as something seemed to be going on in the middle of the floor. She wished she could shift to her dragon form, so she could see what was going on, as there was no way she would be able to get through the knot of people, but knew the host probably not like that very much at all. Plus she wasn't exactly sure a dragon would fit in the space anyway, even though it was a very large apartment. Still, she was curious. So she went over and jumped on the outside of the circle to see over peoples heads without result, just like the ten year old she appeared as would have. She did manage to gain from the noises of struggle and anger that there was a fight. Oh lovely. But the host broke it up, and she went back her corner.
She heard him shout at everyone to stay human, and froze. That had to mean there were humans that might cause problems. At the door, she saw as he poked his head out of it. Oh boy. Brinzer really did not feel like in any way being involved in complications with the humans. And though it looked like he had gotten rid of them, she wasn't too sure that they wouldn't come back.

Ahrima I often think it's nothing but a coffin. Gotta get wreck 'till our necks never swing on a rope. As Ahrima made his way over to the crowd that was continuously gaining members, all of them bouncing with anticipation or to try to see, he too had to bounce to see over the small group of people that there was already. But he made it into the group before a lot of the others did, and he ended up being one of the people smushed in the middle and crouched down. But he didn't mind. At least he had a view. Ahrima was expecting something worth seeing. Something like one person completely ripping apart another. It was those kind of things that were exciting in public places.
His hand wound in a tight fist, he watched as both the wolf and the panther fought, or more like batted each other around for a bit. He almost jumped up and cheered when the wolf retaliated and almost bit one of the panther's legs off. He did, however, egg them on from the sidelines. He couldn't help himself. "Get him!" he yelled. But all of the fun and excitement was over when the owner of the apartment came crashing through to call them some names and order them to calm down. Ahrima walked away with his shoulders kind of slumped and his eyes to the floor. "I was expecting them to tear each other apart. . ." he kind of whined to himself. It wasn't loud enough for even himself to hear over the booming music.
He ran a gloved hand through the front of his golden blonde hair, messing it up a bit as he quickly looked for something else to do. He sifted through the big crowd that was coming away from the former action on the middle of the floor, until his grey eyes settled upon wispy silver hair. His brow furrowed in thought. He knew that head of hair. Ahrima absentmindedly straightened his vest and shirt, as he made his way over to the thin figure. He made it into her sight by walking directly behind her and spinning around in front of her, a little too close for comfort. He couldn't help it. "I didn't know that you were here, too!" he said with an enthusiastic grin on his face and his arms stretched out a little.

Floating flocks of candle swansZanna caught small glimpses of the scene through gaps between people's heads. Two animals dodging around and attacking each other. Not surprising. Of course there would be some headstrong person at a party this big that would go and start a fight. While she didn't like fighting though, she really couldn't help but to stay and watch. But there wasn't much to watch, as the host of the party came in pretty soon and broke it up.
Zanna started to walk back to the wall she had been occupying, but apparently someone else had other plans, for they suddenly decided to appear in front of her from who knows where. She jumped, and really wished she could throw her drink in his face, but she didn't want to start another fight. She wanted to even more when she saw who it was. Zanna frowned in a slight bit of annoyance at his greeting. So enthusiastic. As if they were great pals. "Yes, I'm here. Along with almost all of the inhuman population in the valley. With that, Zanna stepped to the side and continued to her original destination. Not at all doubting that he would follow her.
