"Such a lovely land." thought Scarlet as she approached the platue. She had come here specifically because she was having a horrible week. She had not been able to find any of her favorite game, which happened to be black bears, and that was only the beginning. This week marked the 48 anniversary of the week she spent in a complete torture as pain from the strong vampire blood that had worked its way through her then-weak and fragile human body, turning her slowly and making her wish she had only thought longer about her decision to follow the old friend into the alley, let alone comply to the mating he implied on her... But never mind that. Any other week of the year she would have the event completely out of her mind, but not this week. This week, she had to be away from everyone and everything; for their own damn good, for her temper was horribly out of control as it was, without the feeling of dread, agony, and pure hatred coursing through her veins. No, she should be alone in this time as to prevent any innocent from falling victim to her wrath. She knew this would be unfair, but it had been several days since she had fed well, and with her temper flaring as it was, she could very well drain even an innocent little child if given the chance, for her state of mind was vengeance this week. "It wasn't fair of him to take advantage of me. Nothing is fair in this world. Why should I let a pathetic human live?" These were the thoughts playing on her tongue, and this is why she came here each year. She knew many would be hurt if she were to stay with civilization or merely in the forest. "Oh, but look at how beautiful it is here. I now remember why I chose here to withdraw when this week comes. The setting puts me at peace. Look at all of the plants and listen at the scurrying of the rodents. How could I ever be so cruel here?" Suddenly, as if she had forgotten that she was upset, she had the sudden urge to run. Run, and run fast; fast and long. She knew not why, but she felt she should be running, like she sensed danger. Then she remembered; this is how she felt with the first touch he used on her, though it was gentle. She became enraged and cried out in a pathetic combination of anger, vengeance, sadness, and a feeling of hatred for herself for letting him. The cry traveled far across the platue, and she could hear the small animals around trembling in fear and running in many directions, just to try to escape what they found was danger. But the cry was simply not enough to release this. She ran as fast as she could. Scarlet had no point or destination. She just had to move. She had to feel as if she were releasing at least some of the emotion that was held within her. She ran like she never had before; as if there were some place she desperately needed to be, though there was none. But suddenly, she stopped. Just stopped and sat down. A sudden wave of apathy washed over her, and she felt as if she had gotten a hold of a drugged animal, or had taken a large dose of a narcotic. Either way, she felt no desire to move. She felt that she could sit there for the remainder of the day, motionless. That is, until she saw movement. Slight at first, barely noticed through all of the extremely tall grass, but then she saw it again, this time in more of a way that made her feel she was in danger. Was this simply her imagination taking over her? Or had someone really followed her all the way from the forest to the platue? Had someone been watching her this whole time? "I swear, this will be there last day, if one were following me. I need this time for myself for a reason! I'm doing this to save everyone who I might have come in contact with. Why would someone follow me?" She stood up and readied herself to fight. "Who the hell is it?!" Scarlet screamed aloud. No one answered. At least, not directly. But she soon felt a hand going around her mouth, and in a panic, she fainted.

Aries saw that Scarlet needed someone to comfort her. Even though she said that she didnt want her to come she followed. She didnt understand why scarlet needed to be by herself, but friends stick together. Aries stayed low in the grass to watch scarlet without being seen. She listened to her walking around the tall grass. Aries watched as her mouth moved with out any sound coming out. scarlet must have been mouthing the words. Her face appeared to be angry at something. She began to run as fast as she could. Following her, Aries decided to make her presence known. When scarlet stopped running she stopped slightly moving the grass. The young vampire looked over noticing the moving grass. Her face appeared to be annoyed at my presence. Her stance changed to a fighting one and was ready to fight. Aries did not want to fight her friend and reached to put her hand over her mouth to keep her from screaming. Scarlet was frightened from this actions and fainted. Aries giggled and looked down at her sleeping friend. She sat down next to her and whispered for the girl to wake up. When scarlet opened her eyes she looked at Aries with confusion. "Sorry for scareing you. I thought you needed someone to talk to." Aries said with the memory of the first time they met. Scarlet sat up and looked up Aries with a look that she could not recognize.

Scarlet awoke from her short time of being unconscious to the sound of Aries whispering to her to wake. "What the hell," Scarlet thought "I thought I made it very clear...But I suppose I don't blame her. I was rather rude." She looked up at Aries with a look that she knew Aries wouldn't be able to recognize, for she herself had no intention of understanding it. She had never felt like this; never before had anyone put themselves in harms way, knowingly or not, just to comfort her. She was deeply touched that her new friend would do so for her. Scarlet sat up and began to talk to Aries in a sorry tone. "I am so sorry for my rudeness, please do forgive me, but this week is a harsh one that I've always spent alone. Allow me to explain. 49 years ago this week, I was turned by someone who I thought would never do anything to hurt me; by someone who I trusted with my life. That whole week, I was alone, and in such pain that I dare say I rested only after I had been fully turned. That is, after I had been turned and accidentally slaughtered several humans, knowing not how to control my thirst. Until now, I have told no one this story, for no one has ever been so kind as to befriend me and listen to my history. I truly thank you, Aries, for your friendship. You've no idea how much it truly means to me." As I said all of this, Aries seemed to be silently listening, taking in every word as I spoke them, and always keeping a gentle look. I knew, in that moment, that I had met someone who would be my very closest friend.

Aries listened to the sad story that scarlet told. It was upsetting for Aries to hear how she trusted someone with her life and to have taken away for another. In Aries eyes the turning was more like having your life taken away. She kept a gentle and friendly face while she told this story. This allowed scarlet to know that she cared and was listening to every word. When she was finished Aries put her arm around scarlet in a friendly way to comfort her. "If you want we can go back to the forest and take it out on some deer." Aries said with a smile to make her feel ok. "sure" scarlet said with a small smile to hide some of the anger. They both stood up and ran back to the forest. On the way there Aries thought about the amount of deer. "We should stick with the adult deer only." Aries thought trying to save the deer population. When they reached the forest the vampires stopped by the cave to rest from the run. After a few minutes both of them got up to hunt the deer. About half and hour late they knocked out half the population of deer and ten percent of her favorite bears. Back at the cave they sat down and talked about anything that didn't involve the night she was turned. This kind of talk made Aries feel like they were two old friends that were catching up. It made her feel happy, which she doesnt feel very often. All this talk made Aries remember her sister that was seperated from her at birth. "I bet you didn't know i have a sister. Well, had a sister." "Really, what was her name." "It was Jasmine. Me and her were separated at birth." "I like that name." Scarlet said with a smile.
