We are the vampires, like living stone.
Sangsue slouched lazily against the street light, and absentmindedly picked the dirt from under her fingernails. She watched lazily as the girls shoulder first was torn apart, and she kind of wanted to be doing something like that herself. Pulling the flesh apart with her own claw-like hands, and ripping it with her perfect fangs. It faintly occured to her that what she was watching only a few feet away from her would be the kind of thing you would see in a horror movie. One that would probably scare the crap out of the girl it was happening to. Sangsue chuckled at the hint of irony there.
She watched the pool of blood spread on the sidewalk, starting to drip in to the street and the sewer drain. She frowned a little. Hm, she might want to get someone to make sure the water was clean, the humans wouldn't react very well to seeing red in their water. They would freak out under the assumption it was blood. But of course, they would be right. Sangsue came back to reality when she heard a sickening snap. The unfortunate girl's head now hung limply at an odd angle from the rest of her. The smirk on her face disappeared, somehow she could handle all the gore, but sounds like that just got to her a little. When the wolf arose back to regular position, she seemed a little off focus.
Sangsue turned and leaped up to perch on the overhanging bar of the street lamp. Better safe than sorry. While she was still formidable, there was no way she could fight, let alone beat, her best friend. Syd? A little hesitant. Come to think of it, she probably couldn't outrun her either.

I think about the loveless fascinationSydonia was disoriented. Why was she out here? Why had she been chasing this girl to kill her? What had she done? She couldn't remember anything. But she knew someone was behind her, watching her. The wolf's hackles rose a bit as she felt the icy gaze bore into her back. As she was trying to remember, she got frustrated with it. The taste of blood was still fresh on her tongue, and the sharp, copperlike taste made her feel a want, a longing for more of it. But where? And out this late? Then she remembered. There was someone behind her. At this thought, her hackles raised higher, and the hair on the back of her neck was standing almost straight up. But then, a voice graced the silver ears of the wolf. A hesitant voice, with a spark of fear behind it.
Syd? The person knew her name. But who could it possibly be? Sydonia didn't know that many people, and those people she did know she couldn't bring to her mind at the moment. No, as of now she had a one track mind. She turned her head away from the body on the ground in front of her and stepped carefully around over the dead to face the direction the voice had come from. Her red eyes were drawn to a petite woman perched on the top of a street lamp. So it was her who was watching Syd. Without thinking, the wolf padded forward slowly, head hanging low, and a low growl coming out evenly with every step.
Under the milky way tonight.

It was a smart idea to get a bit out of the way of immediate danger. It appeared that Sydonia was not thinking normally, as she had feared. As the wolf sauntered toward the street light, she knew she should probably run. In a fraction of a second, she scanned her surroundings for the nearest getaway, that would also be the hardest to be followed from. All she saw was the low building directly in front of her, and she figured she could make an escape by jumping rooftops. Fight or flight reflex kicking in, and she definitely couldn't bring herself to fight Sydonia. Even when she was never one to run away, she would now.
Her eyes wide and alert, she leaped the 5 feet from the pole to the building, and landed neatly a few feet back from the ledge. It was only about 7 feet tall, and she would feel much better were she a little farther away. Sangsue proceeded pull herself up the brick wall to her right, sprinting across the cement floor. Dropping over the other edge, she landed in a crouch and turned her head back to the spot she had started from. She saw the mutilated girl, the blood puddling in the street, but she was looking to see if she had been followed.

Look over the edge, can you see me?As the wolf crept slowly to the street lamp, she noticed the one on top of it scan her surroundings. So she was looking for an escape! She could never escape to somewhere here, there was no possible way. But nevertheless, just as Sydonia broke into a sprint and jumped up at the street lamp pole, coming short from even reaching it with her teeth, the other jumped and clung to the building next to it. Impossible! Syd was confused. But of course the thought that this woman wasn't human, let alone her best friend, never crossed the wolf's mind. Sydonia ran to the foot of the building where the other was clinging to the side of, and watched as she crawled up to the top of it. The wolf paced back and forth at the bottom a few seconds before jumping up, placing her front paws on the side of the building, and started scratching at it. She barked and howled while doing this, like a dog who was chasing a squirrel up a tree.
But then, Syd stopped, and lowered herself to the ground once again. One thing that differs werewolves from regular wolves is that they have their human intelligence in their wolf form, regardless of the situation. Syd padded along the building's base, and into the narrow alleyway next to it. Once here, she mustered enough power in her back legs to jump completely up on a large dumpster-like container, then another, and finally up to the roof of the building, opposite side of where the vampire -though she didn't know it was a vampire- was. Syd now slinked lowly in the direction that the other was. Silently, she approached the back of this woman, and when only about 7 feet away, loosed a vicious snarl, threatening the creature to stay where she stood.
Rivulets flow from your eyes.

We are the vampires, like living stone.
Sangsue's eyes diligently searched the pavement below her, but she could see no signs of life. Blast it, where had Sydonia gone to? She gave up searching, and trusted her other senses. They serve her better than sight anyhow. She could hear nothing, but the wind whistling in her ears, dragging litter across the street, and her own slightly panicked breaths sliding between her teeth. The rich scent of copper wafted up to her nose, and she thanked the heavens it did not at the moment distract her. She smelled the leaves of the trees from the forest, and faintly, but it was definitely there, she smelled the familiar scent of her friend. At least that confirmed that Sydonia was still around, somewhere.
She opened her eyes, about to once again survey her surroundings. But her search was cut off by a threatening snarl from behind her, one she knew oh too well, and it sounded too close for comfort. Sangsue froze. "Crap." Slowly, she turned her head, to behold the wolf within leaping distance from her. This was not good, not good at all. ". . .Syd?" Her voice was as calm as she could make it, while in her head all she was thinking was a lot of things along the lines of: "Oh dear, oohhh dear. What am I going to do?! I obviously cannot run away, no, no, that would not be the least bit smart. Please, please don't let her attack. . .
[/color] Sangsue prayed her friend would somehow snap out of it. We are loyal, enduring, longing; for a life besides our own. [/blockquote][/blockquote]

I'm the firestarter.Sydonia had a one track mind at the moment. This person in front of her was going down, human or not. She stepped forward, one paw at a time. Her sharp, dagger like teeth shone in the scarce light of the night. Her maw drawn in a snarl, she stepped closer to Sangsue, still not realizing that it was her best friend, one that she would do anything for. And this is why Sydonia was not supposed to have human blood. She was never allowed to touch it. Again, the milky smooth voice of the vampire graced the wolf's silver ears. The wolf stopped, and let loose another threatening snarl. How dare that fiend talk to her in such an informal way? That was it. This girl was going down. Syd's red eyes glowed now at an angle against the light coming from the street.
With one swift and graceful movement, the lanky wolf leaped to the woman standing on the edge of the low-roofed building. They were both cast over the edge, and sent to the brick pavement below. They landed on the street with much force, having come from several feet above. The wolf's paws on the vampire's torso, holding her down to the street. The wolf went to snap at the other's face.
Twisted firestarter.

Sangsue's feeble attempts at trying to return her friend to reality were not working. Quite unfortunate for her. She heard another menacing snarl, and was suddenly more afraid than she could remember being in such a long time. Frozne in place, and powerless to defend herself, she was hit forcefully in the front. She felt herself falling, he cold night air whistling in her ears. Ten feet below, she landed with a thud, and at a very bad angle. Flat on her back, her bones were already aching from the force with which she had fallen. She was still unable to grasp what she needed to do to escape this. Sangsue was snapped back to her senses with the appearance of Sydonia's teeth going for her face.
She couldn't help it, she screamed. Sangsue usually made a point of not making such noises, they sounded so weak. She darted her head out of the way, and squirmed as much as she could. She pushed the wolf's stomach away from her, and managed to writhe out from under her friend. But now what to do? What could she do? Running had already proven to be futile. Could she bring herself to fight her best friend? She might have to. She backed away quickly, not taking her eyes off the wolf. Her eyes wide with panic, she felt all she could do at the moment was keep evading injury until the crazed state passed.
We are loyal, enduring, longing; for a life besides our own.

I don't mean to close the door, butThe dark wolf's nose scraped the ground as she went down to mar the vampire's face, but was surprised to find that the girl had dodged. But before Sydonia could lower her head once more to possibly mutilate the girl underneath her, a sound that she had only heard maybe once before in her entire lifespan broke the air violently as it shrilled out in the night. It is one of the only things that can make the wolf hesitate in a state like this. The vampire beneath her let out a scream. Syd's red eyes looked into the vampire's brown, and the wolf felt a pressure pushing her away. The wolf didn't do anything to stop Sangsue pushing her away, for she was slowly floating back to reality and what was really happening.
Though, the vampire's strength was still very forceful, and in letting herself be pushed from her spot, she was thrust to the ground. The wolf scrambled, and her claws made little scratching sounds against the brick of the street and a small whine came out of her maw as she tried to get back up. Looking at the vampire whom she now recognized a bit more, she kept her head low to the ground. She looked at her paws splayed out on the ground in front of her. This creature was her best friend. How could she have forgotten? An overwhelming feeling of remorse came over her as she looked back up to the afraid vampire, and the wolf took a few steps back. What had she done?
My heart is sore.

We are the vampires, like living stone.
Sangsue kept an alert focus on her friend, trying to judge what movements would be wise to make. No where to run, no way to hide, and no garuntee she could fight. She was, for the first time in her life, actually scared for her life. It was utterly mortifying to look in to the eyes of her best friend, and see nothing but a mind set on killing her. Taking hesitant steps backward, she searched for any sign that reality would soon regain it's hold on her. She heard the sharp scratching of claws on cement, the soft whine made in effort to right herself. But since no attack immediately came, a tad bit of hope sparked in Sangsue's eyes.
The wolf backed up, just a little. Enough to let the vampire know that she would most likely be safe now. She approached very catiously, steps taking a few seconds each, stopping a couple feet away. "Sydonia?" Every muscle was tensed for flight, should she still need to get away. This was definitely one of the oddest nights of her life. Being chased down by her best friend, while in a city that she had built and ruled. Any normal mind would have gone insane by now. Which was one of many reasons Sangsue was glad she did not have a normal mind.
We are loyal, enduring, longing; for a life besides our own.

The yearning song of flesh on flesh. The wolf kept her head down, and dared not look Sangsue in the eyes. Her tail drooped to the ground, and her ears laid back against her head. She felt the footsteps of the vampire, and felt her get closer. What was she going to do now? What were either of them going to do now? Sydonia knew what she had done, but she didn't know if she had really hurt her friend. Chances were thin, seeing as Sangsue was a vampire and practically impossible to kill, but there might have been some emotional trauma that Syd had forced her to go through. Sydonia? The wolf's eye lids slid down over her crimson orbs. She mentally scolded herself for not thinking twice. Why hadn't she remembered her problems? This was her body, her reactions. Why hasn't she control over them at all?
Instead of responding to the nervous call of the vampire, the wolf turned her head around to face the other way. She couldn't look at her. She couldn't look at herself without being completely disgusted. She contemplated just walking away at that very moment in time. No, she didn't think she could control her regret that much. She wanted to run away from the vampire, away from that street, and never go back again. She realized how much of a danger she was. Without looking back to the creature standing in front of her, the wolf turned around gracefully on her paws and fled the other way. She was not at full speed, and she slinked along as if someone had just beaten her. She was afraid that Sangsue would follow her, and that's probably what she would do.
Hearts burst open, wounds bleed fresh.
